Enrollment at Woodstock Christian School
Woodstock Christian School is committed to delivering excellence in Christian Elementary Education. Enrollment presently stands at 224 students from JK through Grade 8. Enrollments are accepted through out the school year if resources and class size permits. WCS welcomes families from all denominations that are seeking a Christ-centered education for their children.
How do I enroll my child?
Step 1 - Contact the school
Take the Tour
A low-key Open house is held each Wednesday (throughout the school year) from 9-noon. Teachers know to expect guests and Joleen Mulder is available to give you a tour and answer questions. This is a great opportunity to look in on a class in session. Visiting is the best way to meet the teaching staff and get a real feel for what WCS is about and what we have to offer your child. We will send you home with an information package including detailed information about our exceptional educational programs, tuition options, and school policies.
This is a special night for families with students entering JK and SK. The Kindergarten teachers will present details about the Kindergarten programs, and a typical school day for our students. The event will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 7:45pm.
Step 2 - Fill out the enrollment form
If you have made the decision that this is the best school for your child’s elementary education, we request that you fill out the enrollment form. Along with the form, you'll need to provide copies of your child's birth certificate, health card and immunization record. For students entering higher grades we will need a copy of your child's latest report cards. As well, you will need to attach a cheque for $500 (post dated to September 1st).
Registration day is set for February 8, 2018 but we are open to receiving forms at any time.
Feel free to book an appointment with Joleen Mulder or drop in any Wednesday morning!
Step 3 - New parent Meetings
Families new to WCS are invited for an informal meeting with the Admissions team comprised of the Principal, Advancement Director and the board representative for membership. This is a good time to sit down together to get to know you better and to answer any question you may still have. We'll also discuss the school's expectations and what you as parents can expect from the school; what Christian education means at WCS; school programs and routines; special needs your child may have; tuition and payment process; transportation; and how to be come involved on the WCS community. These meetings are often scheduled during student visit days. Following the interview, the school board formally approves new family enrollments.
Step 4 - Tuition Payments
You will receive a tuition statement mailed to your home. This package also includes payment options and information on that process. Once tuition payments are in place, your child is officially registered.
Step 5 - School Visit
JK and SK students are invited for a visit morning at the school. This typically happens the first week of June.
Students entering grades 1-8: Older students are invited to spend a day with their future class in order to get to know their future teacher and classmates. This can be arranged for a time that suits both your family and teacher involved.
New Parent Evening-On the last Thursday prior to the start of school we host a New Parent Evening. All new parents, and those that joined part way through the prior year, are invited to attend a evening at the school. All the staff will be in attendance as well as members of the board and various committees. This is another opportunity to share about the school, get to know each other, and answer any questions that arise. This is also a wonderful opportunity to connect with the other new families that are starting this journey of Christian education along with you.
