Welcome to Woodstock Christian School!

Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to our Woodstock Christian School website and thank you for your interest in our school. If you are wondering what Woodstock Christian School is all about, I invite you to keep reading, explore our website, connect with the school to arrange for a tour, or speak with our staff.

We are located at the southern edge of the city of Woodstock and have been offering education to Oxford County families from this location for more than 60 years. We are an independent faith-based school providing Christian education at the elementary (JK-grade 8) level.

Teachers at WCS are dedicated Christian professionals, certified with the Ontario College of Teachers, and committed to their work of supporting students on their learning journey. We teach all areas of curriculum and what we teach aligns with the standards and expectations set by the Ministry of Education. We provide distinctive, Christ-centred education, which means that our students learn to explore the world knowing that God designed and created it. God’s handiwork is seen in the natural laws and design of the world; in math in the patterns and systems and order; in language in the beauty of communication through literature and social media. Through these experiences, students learn that following God isn’t limited to one area of life.

Life is also about relationships and social-emotional learning. At Woodstock Christian, we are intentional about helping students know they belong. Students develop a sense of belonging in their classroom communities. WCS is part of a larger community and, as much as possible, we seek to give back to our community by engaging in service learning activities: planting trees, visiting seniors, serving our schoolmates through our buddy class program and school leadership teams.

Because we are an independent school, we rely on support from our families and our community, in terms of finances and volunteer support. We host fundraising events which help bond our community and bless our school with additional funds.

Learn more about us. We would be honoured and excited for the opportunity to partner with you in the education of your child(ren). We pray that this will be a year in which we continue to celebrate God’s goodness, discover more about Him and his creation, and grow in learning, community, faith, and wisdom.
